Transmitter for magnet level gauge

Operating principle

The transmitter is mounted on the outside of the magnetic level indicator and outputs an electronic signal for the level of the working fluid. The transmitter can be supplied initially with the level indicator or can be supplied additionally to an already existing magnetic level indicator. During installation, it is not necessary to dismantle the level indicator from the installation.

The transmitter consists of a sensor tube containing a series of reed contacts and resistors connected in an electrical circuit. The leads of the electrical circuit go into an electronic head.

The float, by means of the magnet in it, interacts with the sensor tube of the transmitter and when the fluid level changes, it closes the corresponding reed contact, which leads to a change in the resistance in the electrical circuit. This change is converted by the electronic head into a 4-20 mA output signal.
